Nightstand

Two things I learned this NY times article on root cellaring.

If you leave a green tomato on a vine and drape it upside down, it will gradually turn red in three or four weeks.

Squash hung in a pair of knotted pantyhose stay unspoiled longer than others.

One of the things that I miss most about living near my closest friends is that I knew what they were in to, what projects or ideas they were chewing on. I didn't have ask. And I didn't have to present my own projects and ideas consciously.

So here is my conscious presentation of a current project.

Everyone here has gardens. Hence the interest in canning, preserving and root cellars. What are your new interests/projects/etc?

Same ol'--plus thinking of an anthology of man-on-the-streetish interviews, working title: FROM SCRATCH. Plus doing cardio at the old folks home--er, Activities Center. I LOVE it.

What's with all this gushiness? I want more food-porn. I want to see some steamy pictures of mother-daughter cooking, not hear about it with WORDS!

I'm hungry.

Oh, yeah. I'm working getting a job. Worst project ever. I'm thinking about doing an annoying internet comment thing sometime. I started already. This is #2. I left a comment on the TC Boyle thing @ Narrative, but I don't think it'll pass the regulators. I think I added to the "serious discourse", but they probably won't see the depth in my post. Assholes.

Much love.
